Event programming is a very powerful function, which allows to perform all kinds of automatisms from launching videos, overprinting animations to the program signal, changing behaviors, etc. automatically, upon the occurrence of certain conditions.

When clicking the EVENTS button in mediaTV, we see the following window.

On the left, the existing events are listed. If you select an item in this list, its configuration is displayed on the right.

The ADD button enables editing of new events.

Create an Event

An event is created through three definitions:

WHEN: Determines the moment when the event is launched.

CONDITIONS: Determines that in what situation or working mode CLOSE RadioTV must be in for the event to take place.

ACTIONS: Sets the action or actions that are executed when the event is triggered.

WHEN an event is executed

TIME: In this mode, by clicking on "Configure" you access a grid on which you can define the hours, minutes and days on which theevent will be launched.

EVENT: The event will be triggered when a specific event occurs. In this case, clicking on "Configure" displays a drop-down menu with the following options:

  1. In an audio/video file change
  2. When entering the Air (when "punching" the cameras)
  3. When entering Automatic
  4. When making a scene change
  5. Never, only when called (it is launched manually).
  6. mediaTV Play
  7. mediaTV Stop
  8. SMART Scene input
  9. SMART Scene output
  10. Commercial block initializes
  11. Commercial block ends

CONDITIONS for executing an event

One or more rules can be created that condition the execution of an event.

Pressing the "Configure" button takes you to the CONDITIONS screen, which offers a drop-down menu of options. Depending on its nature, each option will in turn present one or more configuration variables.

  1. Seconds remaining to the end of the title
  2. Elapsed seconds of playback of the title
  3. The name of the file in playback contains/does not contain (text or keyword)
  4. Scene ID (with currently active scene)
  5. Scene ID (with scene before the current scene)
  6. Archive is Music
  7. Archive is Commercial
  8. File is Artistic/Separator/Sweeper
  9. Air Status = Manual
  10. Status in Automatic
  11. Variable Value: these are flexible variables defined by the user. The Variable# field contains 10 variables identified by number plus a TIMEcall that allows conditioning the execution of the event to a specific time or time range. The time is entered in the Value field in the format hour.minutes - separated by a dot. To enter a time range, two TIME variables must be created using the "greater than" and "less than" options .

  1. There was an event executed for that occurrence
  2. SMART Scene ID

By pressing the ADD button, the condition is added to the list of conditions.

When two or more conditionsare defined , the validation can be configured so that the event is executed only if ALL conditions are met ( AND mode ) or to be executed when at least one of the conditions is met ( OR mode ).

ACTIONS to be carried out

Pressing "Configure" displays a drop-down menu with possible actions:
